American Singer Reverted To Islam and Shocked the World with Her Beautiful Quranic Recitation

Islam is complete source of guidance for everyone. It is a religion for everyone. Everyone has a share in this beautiful religion. It’s a religion of the entire humanity.

And the American Singer Jennifer Grout is an example of this universal nature of Islam.

Jennifer was born and raised in Boston in a Christian family. Jennifer has a rare talent in singing Arabic songs. She can sing Arabic songs including the traditional old songs and the Berber Moroccan songs fluently, softly and beautifully. She began singing in the Syrian Cafes started in Montreal and after graduation she moved to Morocco.

Jennifer was the first American and Non Arab finalist in the history of Arabs Got Talent, 2013. She became quite famous in the Arab world after becoming one of the finalists.

She has also performed in various festivals all over the world after the Arabs Got Talent. Apart from Arabic songs, she can also sing Andalusia, Amazigh and Persian songs very well.

Jennifer embraced Islam in the year 2015 after she met her Moroccan finance, a fellow Moroccan singer.

He unconsciously made her change her view towards Islam and the Muslims.

Further, he brought Jennifer closer to Islam by presenting the true essence of Islam.

He is, she says, “the most courageous, persistent and loving person I know… I admired him, and so I wanted to make the relationship work — he being Muslim, one of the biggest factors in doing that was to at least understand Islam. By making an effort to understand and opening my mind to it, suddenly strange and amazing things started happening to me, like huge coincidences and feelings/sensations I’d never had before. That’s how my “process of becoming” originally started. So it is a fairly recent thing for me.

Those are the most important things, and of course I’m trying to educate myself about it, to know more about the meaning of the Quran, Islam’s history… I read somewhere that Islam is not a state of being, but a process of becoming, and that really rings true for me.”

Recently one of the video of Jennifer went viral on Social Media in which she was reciting Ayat – Al – Kursi(Verses Of the Throne) , a part of the Holy Qur’an.  It’s available in the second chapter of the Holy Qur’an, The Calf ( Al – Baqarah) in the verse 255.  The verse speaks about how nothing and nobody is regarded to be comparable to Allah. This is one of the best-known verses of the Quran and is widely memorized and displayed in the Islamic world.

“She was reciting the Qur’an soothingly. Quranic Recitation is an art in itself and can be appreciated by anyone and everyone”, says Jennifer Grout.

From singing songs, Jennifer switched to reciting the Holy Qur’an. It’s a blessing from Allah. In fact, only Allah can guide us. The Journey of Jennifer from Christianity to Islam and then later from singing Arabic songs to reciting the Holy Qur’an is interesting in itself.

Jennifer is a proud Muslimah now with Hijab. She is doing also a proud moment other of a child. Her story gives us a hope in the mercy of Allah.
